Why should you make Holiday Cards?

December and January are big months for Card Isle - Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year - so many occasions to share good cheer with loved ones come during these two months!  With so many holidays, and so many ways to celebrate, we see an uptick in customer traffic and increased sales, so having holiday offerings is a MUST for any aspiring Card Isle Artist.

We try to source content for holidays at least a month in advance, so the best time to submit your winter Holiday cards is now! The earlier your card is submitted, the more likely it is to be featured in our seasonal marketing and receive a resulting sales boost!

If you have yet to design a Holiday card, or would like to expand your current offerings check out these inspirational tips:

Make it funny - if you’re stuck on what to create, it’s hard to go wrong with a little humor!

Make it personal - think about what makes the winter holidays you celebrate important to you. What are some of your favorite things about the holiday season? You might be able to make a card inspired by them!

Make it festive - holidays are meant for celebration, make sure your card shows it!

Make it obvious - the customer should be able to tell immediately upon viewing your card which holiday it is for, or, if your card is a general ‘Happy Holidays’ card, that should be immediately apparent. The customer is most likely looking for cards for a specific holiday, help them out, and they’ll be more likely to choose your card!

Try something new - Create cards for a holiday that you don’t personally celebrate, or have never created cards for before. Creating content for a religious holiday you are unfamiliar with can be intimidating, but there are endless online resources to help educate you in new faiths and their celebrations. Don’t be afraid to explore and learn! Just be respectful, treat these sacred occasions with the care and genuinity you would want someone to treat the things sacred to you.
